Who we are
GTA Tub Repair provides bathtub reglazing services in Toronto and communities across the Greater Toronto Area. In this policy, “GTA Tub Repair,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to GTA Tub Repair.
Information we collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Quote and service information: your first and last name, phone number, email address, city, postal code, property address if provided, requested service, number of bathtubs, project details and photographs you choose to upload.
- Communications: information contained in emails, text messages, calls and voicemails, including your contact details, message content, attachments, communication timestamps and related technical identifiers. We do not state that calls are recorded unless you are separately told that recording is taking place.
- Website and device information: pages viewed, interactions with the website, referring pages, approximate location, browser and device information, cookie identifiers and similar usage data collected through Google Analytics.
- Advertising attribution information: if you arrive through a tagged link or advertisement, the website may collect UTM parameters, a Google click identifier and the page URL from which you submit a quote request.
- Customer and job records: estimates, appointment and job details, service history, payment or transaction records, notes and follow-up information created while responding to or completing your project.
Please do not include unnecessary personal information in project descriptions or photographs. Before uploading a photo, check that it does not show people, private documents or unrelated personal details.
How we collect information
We collect information directly from you when you submit a quote form, upload photographs, call, text or email us, book an appointment, request or approve work, or otherwise communicate with us. We also collect limited website usage and referral information automatically through analytics technologies.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- review and respond to quote and service inquiries;
- assess visible bathtub conditions and requested work;
- prepare estimates and arrange, provide and follow up on services;
- communicate by phone, text message or email about your inquiry or project;
- maintain customer, job, accounting and business records;
- understand website use and measure the effectiveness of advertising;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve our website and business systems;
- prevent duplicate, fraudulent or abusive submissions; and
- meet legal, tax, insurance, safety and regulatory requirements.
We collect, use and disclose personal information with your consent or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law. If we want to use your information for a new purpose that is not reasonably connected to the purposes above, we will obtain any additional consent required by law.
Google Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the website. Google Analytics may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about visits, sessions, devices, browsers, approximate location and interactions with website pages. Google states that Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses, although an IP address may be processed when Analytics data is collected.
The main Google Analytics cookie, _ga, distinguishes one
browser from another and may remain for up to two years. You can control
or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking analytics
cookies should not prevent you from requesting a quote, although some
website measurements may no longer work as intended.
You can learn more through Google’s Privacy Policy and Google’s information about data from sites that use its services.
How we disclose information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary to:
- service providers that host, store, transmit, organize or help us process website submissions and business communications;
- workers, subcontractors or suppliers involved in assessing, scheduling or completing requested work, where access is needed for that purpose;
- accountants, insurers, legal advisers or other professional advisers;
- a successor or prospective purchaser in connection with a sale, reorganization or transfer of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections; or
- law enforcement, courts, regulators or other parties when disclosure is required or permitted by law, or is reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, property or the integrity of our services.
Service providers and processing outside Canada
We use service providers to operate parts of our business. These include Google services for Analytics, email, spreadsheets, forms and photo storage; Quo for business calls and text messages; and Make for workflow automation. Depending on how you interact with us and how a provider operates its systems, personal information may be processed or stored in Canada, the United States or other countries.
Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the country where it is handled and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement or regulatory authorities in that country. Our service providers handle information under their own privacy terms and the contractual arrangements applicable to their services. You can review the current privacy information published by Google, Quo and Make.
Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to inquiries, provide and document services, maintain business and accounting records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements and meet legal, tax, insurance and regulatory obligations. The applicable period depends on the type of record and the reason it was collected.
When information is no longer reasonably required, we take reasonable steps to delete, destroy or anonymize it. Information may remain for a limited period in secure backups or in records that must be preserved by law.
Safeguards
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. These measures include restricting access to business accounts and private customer records, using reputable service providers and applying reasonable account and device security practices.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will respond to suspected privacy or security incidents as required by applicable law.
Your choices and privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to or correction of that information. You may also withdraw consent to future collection, use or disclosure where our processing depends on consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already occurred lawfully and may limit our ability to provide a quote or service.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Access may also be limited where the law permits or requires us to protect another person’s information, confidential commercial information or legally privileged material. If we cannot fully grant a request, we will explain the reason when legally permitted.
Electronic communications
We may contact you by phone, email or text message to respond to an inquiry, provide an estimate, arrange service or communicate about an existing project. If we send promotional electronic messages, we will do so in accordance with applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices, service providers or legal obligations change. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated in another appropriate way when required by law.
